Probably the most iconic botanical garden in the UK, Kew Gardens is one of the largest and most diverse places in the world, hosting a staggering array of botanical and mycological collections. The herbarium has over 8.5 million preserved plant and fungal specimens, which is why it is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the whole of the UK.

Levens Hall

Stroll through the gardens of Levens Hall to find an amazing topiary garden that is mostly unchanged from the 17th century. It retains most of the original features of the garden, with the world’s oldest topiary garden, unique garden art and an assortment of ancient yew trees. The gardens are attached to a manor house in the Kent Valley, which is also open to the public to explore.

Lost Gardens of Heligan

The Lost Gardens of Heligan in Cornwall are around 200 acres of great fun for the whole family. They are called the Lost Gardens of Heligan because after the First World War they were neglected and fell into disrepair. They started to be restored in the 1990s and are now one of the most popular in the UK, with highlights being a wild area filled with subtropical tree ferns and Europe’s only remaining pineapple pit.
